A quick note about me and this website: I am a meter collector and I set this website up as a historical reference for other meter collectors as well as anyone else who has an interest in antique electrical equipment... I do not claim to be a metering professional but I am more than willing to answer your questions to the best of my ability.

If you are located outside North America - I'm sorry, but I am unable to provide ANY assistance whatsoever. Please check the links further down the page for people who may be able to help you.

If you are a utility buyer looking for meters or are looking for submeters, please take a look at my links page. Also take a look at the wants page - there is an utility with over 1 million surplus singlephase meters available as well as a person in Canada with several thousand singlephase meters available!

Also, if you need professional metering advice (particularly if it's about a dispute with your utility) or information on meters currently being produced, then I highly recommend The MeterGuy!'s website, particularly its Tailboard page (a metering forum that is often visited by metering professionals).

Otherwise, if you just have general questions about your own meter or one you have, or are even a fellow meter collector, definitely feel free to drop me a line at: . NOTE: Address has been changed as of 3-1-05 due to those @#$&?@!!! spammers.

Please note - if you are looking for information on stealing electricity - LOOK ELSEWHERE. I WILL NOT help you!

Due to a persistent lack of time, this site will not give much coverage to models introduced after the 1960s (many of which are still in use in large numbers) - this includes the electronic models. I eventually hope to put up some information on the various registers and contact devices used with these meters. However, I do not intend to cover the demand-only meters as it is a whole other field of study. If anyone wants to tackle the immense task of creating a website covering this side of metering, I am more than willing to help out with needed information for this project.

Also, if anyone living outside the USA (Canada and Central/South America included) wants to make similar a website covering models produced in their country, I strongly encourage you to do so, and I will place a prominent link on the front page of the website to each 'sister site'.

Lastly, there are a few people I need to thank for my interest in meters...

If you want to use any images from this site for anything other than personal reference, please ask me. I may have higher resolution or larger images that you may use.
